With the onset of the global pandemic, a growing number of institutions in the US have made the decision to temporarily waive standardized testing requirements. While other institutions and state systems have made the decision to completely phase out SAT and ACT requirements over the next four years. 

Join IELTS USA and co-presenters from higher education institutions and international secondary schools as we explore best practices for transitioning to a test-optional policy and tips for advising prospective US-bound international students as admissions requirements change.

Ruby serves as an Associate Director of Admissions and the Director of International Recruitment at Barnard College. Ruby also currently serves on the International Association for College Admission Counseling Executive Board as Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Practices.  She is a graduate of Swarthmore College, and she earned an Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University.  Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in international admissions. She currently serves as Executive Director of International Admissions at the University of Rochester. Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and her Master’s Degree from Miami University. Becky has been working in university admissions since 2004 and arrived at Santa Clara in 2013. As Dean of Undergraduate Admission, she is responsible for setting and leading the strategic direction of all admission and recruitment efforts for first-year and transfer students, including oversight of all technical, and marketing initiatives. 
 
Kate serves as the Director, Higher Education for IELTS USA. Kate’s background is in Enrollment Management where she has worked with both domestic and international student populations. She is also a member of International ACAC. 
 
Lisa attended UC Santa Barbara where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Developmental Psychology and Experimental Psychology in 1985 and a master’s degree in Education in 1989.  She has 36 years of experience in the Department of Admissions at UCSB where she has served as the Director Admissions since 2013.  Shikha has been working as a career and college counsellor for over a decade with schools in India. With a background in psychology, and experience with IB, A Level and other curriculums. She believes in a student centric approach to counselling. She is a member of International ACAC and currently serves as a Career Counselor at Step by Step School in Noida, India.
